Answer: Storage devices are used to store data and programs permanently.  A storage device is a computer hardware component that writer and reads data to and from storage media. When storage device writer data on the storage medium, it performs the function as an output device. Similarly, When storage device reads data from disk and loads it into RAM, it performs the function as an input device. It is because; storage device is also referred to as I/O storage devices.
